Today had a cloudy and cold start. We saw a lot of birds heading south from the north…again. Guides are seeing more Ross geese but even they are not acting as you would expect. They are decoying better than the snows but there is plenty of them just blowing us off.  I know there are a lot of people blaming the hatch for the slow hunting. It is no doubt a factor but I would like to see how these birds work under better weather conditions. I still feel the weather is by far the biggest factor and we have had a ton of cloudy, cloudy with rain, cloudy with cold. We have had very few sunny, warm, south winds. There have been 3 or 4 only. The high fields today shot 9.  

Tuesday we are supposed to get about 1.5 inches of rain with more chances later in the week. We have decided to pull out of the house and just stay in the motel for the last week in Arkansas. We need some stability to make things a little smoother. This means you will be getting a call, probably from your guide, with a meeting time and place different from what is in the confirmation letter. Some will still meet there but not everybody. Your guide will call AFTER we pick fields for the next day which is normally around the 8 to 8:30 PM timeframe. You can always call me on my cell with questions 563-419-3572.
