Day #2 Pretty Good

Today was excellent. This year is entirely different than in 2019. Those of you that were disappointed last spring, well we all were. There is no need to let one of the worst years in my 20-year snow goose guide career define how you judge snow goose hunting. Last year the first five days of the season, we shot 299 snows, this year, in 2 days with two fewer fields running, we have killed 335 snows. The birds are entirely different from last year. They are working the decoys. We are only two days in, so who knows what the future brings, but I’m pleased with our start to the season.

The picture is of the birds I shot solo today. The guides picked their fields, and I took the open one. It worked out pretty well for me; I got 44. Then when I was cleaning them, look at what I found.

The high field today shot 61 snows. The low field was shooting 11. The overall average was 34.1 birds per field. Last year our high field killed only 34. If any of you are on the fence about booking this year, it looks like we may have a good season shaping up. We have open dates, call Brad 563-380-7122. He will hook you up.
