The first day of the 2023 snow goose season was decent, especially given the hunting conditions. The ground is white, and decoys are iced up. Our best group shot 44, and the worst shot 15 for an average of 24 snow geese. A chilly but solid day of snow goose hunting.

We saw plenty of geese, all migrators heading south to warmer weather. The good thing is we will get another crack at them on Sunday when it’s warm with a south wind. The picture is from my field. We shot 16.
