The weather shift slowed things down today. Not terrible—just more in line with an average year. Our best field shot 32 snows, and the slowest finished with 8. That was the only group in the single digits, and we still ended up with a 19.7‑bird average. Solidly average day.
Back home, Denise said they picked up 12 inches of snow. This afternoon we saw high flocks coming from the north headed south. I couldn’t get anything to work us, but Curt had one really good spin and they rained them out. My guess is these are flight birds pushing back south.
Tomorrow is supposed to be colder with a high of 48 degrees.
