Some of you are starting to put the cart in front of the horse. You need to take a deep breath. The weather is going to play out how it plays out. There is nothing neither you nor I can do about it.
Just to recap I gave those hunting this weekend 3 options. Hunt as scheduled, move to other open dates, and finally, roll the hunt to next year. Today I gave our Mon-Thu hunters the same options because Monday we are supposed to get a bunch of snow, at least in Arkansas standards. I plan on running the hunter scheduled for Feb 19-21 as planned. Right now the temps are forecasted to be in the upper 30’s or low 40’s. The temps have been that most of this spring season so far.
Those hunting in Iowa, we don’t start there for two weeks. That is way too far out to be guessing what might or might not happen. Two weeks ago guy we saying the migration was over because of the warm January. A lot can happen in two weeks and it looks like the long-range forecast is in the ’40s for Feb 26-28. It’s a long way out, three days is the farthest out I will believe a weather forecast.
Hunting today was about what it has been…slow. Today it was cold to boot.
