Feb 15 was a solid hunting day. The morning started with low winds conditions before the sun got high in the sky. The birds worked like champs but would hang up just out of gun range. Once the sun was up in the sky a bit higher, the wind picked up and so did the hunting. Our hunter ranged from a high of 55 snow geese, down to the low field harvesting 15. I’ll take today every day of the season. It would have been nice to have a little more action later in the day but snow geese don’t work on my preferred schedule.
Tomorrow two of the guides and myself are going to hunt in the morning and then pull a decoy spread once the hunting slows down. Weather is calling for a howling wind out of the south.
