February 15: Only one group hunted for a couple of hours due to a big rainstorm that dropped over 3 inches of rain. We’re thankful we moved our spreads earlier in the season to avoid the mud—it would have been like a lake now. The group consisted of a father and his young son who loves waterfowl hunting, and they shot 3 birds.

February 16: Our high field shot 47 birds, and most of the other fields were in double digits, except for the low field, which shot 2. I saw a few birds coming from the south in a migrator area. The other fields have a lot of staged birds near them, so they were unsure if their birds were migrators or just feed-run birds since the migrators I saw were low bucking the heavy northwest wind.
