The migration has slammed on the brakes pretty hard the last two days. North wind and clouds aren’t helping the cause. Our best field only managed to get 7, and we got our first zero of the year. There was debate about whether it was a zero since the dog picked up a wing-tipped bird off some sheet water in the field. Finally, we decided it was a zero since no shots were fired to get it. 

We did get a blue phase ross today. Pretty sure it’s a hybrid, but it’s a rare bird regardless. It will be the newest addition to Curt’s world’s largest blue goose museum.  

Tomorrow we will have a south wind. The first south wind in a few days. We are hoping to see some migration that we have not seen in the last couple of days. At noon we pull all the decoys, load the trailers, and migrate to Iowa Monday morning.
