It’s January 30th, and it’s not dry anymore. It rained pretty hard most of the morning, and it’s two o’clock in the afternoon now. It’s starting to let up, just a sprinkle, but it was pouring earlier. We were supposed to get anywhere from three to six inches of rain, depending on who you talk to.

For those coming in this weekend, it will definitely be wet. There will be some water to walk through to get to the fields in a few spots, though not deep water. You’ll need at least knee boots or breathable chest waders. I wear them a lot when it gets wet. Otherwise, wear waterproof stuff. The blinds are definitely going to be wet; there’s no way to keep them dry in conditions like this. Hopefully, it will dry out in a couple of days. It had been pretty dry here, so hopefully, a lot of this water soaks into the ground.

Tomorrow will probably be a fairly busy day. The duck hunters have to get out of the house, and then we have to move in and get everything ready for Saturday morning to meet you guys. I’m likely going to send out a text to everyone coming in today instead of tomorrow, so it’s all done ahead of time. We’re going to be busy tomorrow. Once we get settled in the house, everything will go back to a more scheduled program, but the switchover can be a bit chaotic.

So anyway, it’s going to be somewhat wet. You should bring some waders or waterproof gear as I mentioned, and we’ll see you guys coming in this weekend, Saturday morning.
