March 12, 13, 14 – A Really Long Day

I’m sorry for the missed reporting the last couple days here is how things went.

March 12 – Very cold but we picked up a lot of birds from the north (I believe). Snow was on the ground and a strong north wind that was COLD! At noon we started pulling half of the spreads. Finished by 5 then I drove home to return to work. I got home at 1 am. A REALLY LONG DAY! Hunting was all single digits except the low field which got a zero.

March 13 – Very cold again! Our high field was 12 and the low was a zero. The fields that shot birds did so in the afternoon. The zero didn’t hunt the afternoon.

March 14 – A warm up in temps and hunting. Our high field shot 26 and our low field shot 20. They saw a tremdous number of birds this afternoon. During much of Iowa the afternoons have been better than the mornings.

Tomorrow forecast looks great…61 degree but pretty windy. There should be a big push north…tomorrow night we will know for sure.
