Today started out differently than I expected. I saw 63 degrees ESE wind – I was excited, but it was pretty chilly this morning. The field I hunted was low, we shot 1 bird, but my hunters left at 9ish as they had an 11-hour drive. Most of the geese split us to the south and west. Shortly after noon, Matt rolled in with 59, which was our high field. Curt got back about two. He said the birds were bombing his spread as he chatted with his hunters, so Aaron, Billy (Amy, his wife & Gunner, his 7-year-old son), and I went to Curt field for the late afternoon. Immediately birds started working us. In two hours, we shot 28. Curt had shot 26 in the morning. It would have been a big day had it been hunted all day. Heck, 54 is a big day.
