More than half our fields were in the twenties but the rest were in single digits. Our success is swinging as wildly as the temps this year. As I sit here in the motel typing this post, several flocks of geese have flown over head. The weather this week looks to be amazingly warm. As I neared the motel the local radio said today’s high is 67 normal high is 44. The next few days are going to be mirror images. It’s hard to believe that just a few days ago, I had guides not working in Arkansas due to the cold, telling me that according the the long-range forecast we won’t be able to hunt in Iowa until after March 7th. The weather man only missed it by 35 degrees or so. This is why the long range forecast is worthless and shouldn’t be depending on at all.
