Friday’s hunting results were similar to the whole week, slower than we like to see them. The warmer weather at the end of the week was still less than ideal for migration. Yesterday’s temp’s almost reached 50 but it was a cold 50 degrees. Most of the fields had drizzling rain most if not all of the day. Fog was around all day. At the best time you could only see up to a half mile in each direction, at worse you could only see the edge of the decoy spread. The snow geese literally had to fly almost directly over the decoys to see them. I’m hearing that guys farther south are starting to have better success. Every dog has his day and ours is coming. 

Meeting time is still 4:30 am. Bring wet weather gear. The fields are wet therefore the blinds are wet. As I have said a number of times I like wearing breathable waders. The wet conditions are not bad to hunt in if you come prepared in waterproof gear. 

Today is the youth duck hunt so we will not be in the field. Tomorrow we start a few new groups and Monday we are back in full swing. Temps look better for the coming week. They are calling for some rain mid-week. The high field Friday was 21.
