Yesterday morning my farthest east fields turned around because of icy roads. There were vehicles going in the ditch everywhere. It was just not safe to continue. The rain and sleet continued through the night and only one group decided to brave the ice and cold this morning. 

I drove around and there are plenty of birds but the temps this weekend are supposed to be frigid. Windy at 20 degrees. Because of this weather, I gave those hunting this weekend the option to hunt as scheduled, move dates, or carry the hunt to next year. We had groups do all three. 

Looking at the longer-range forecast we are in for some snow. If we get half of what they are talking it will be more than we have seen in Arkansas before. We will just have to play the cards mother nature deals us.
