Meet at the clubhouse at 4:30 am. The Squaw Creek Refuge is loaded up. Looks like snow in our future. Radio just said up to 4″ possible. Today we are finished setting fields with our snow goose decoy spread. Monday our hunts begins.

Thunderstorms roll through on Sunday. We hunted 4 hours at most. We are not going to hunt when the sky if full of lightning. The two field shot 32 and 14. Both said the birds worked great. Today we shot 41 & 36 snow geese in the two fields. Another good day in the field hunting snow geese.

We hunted two fields today. Jim’s guys shot 18 on a half day snow goose hunt. Billy’s and my guys shot 64 on a full day. Arkansas continues to be good snow goose hunting.

The first day of our AR hunts was above average. We ended the day with 34. Conditions were low wind and rain. Majority of the birds were juvy’s. Good sign.

We have found several pockets of birds. The largest is just into Missouri but there are a couple real nice groups in Arkansas that we are going to try to set up on. Once we make a decision today I’ll let the hunter know where we are going to stay.

We arrived in Mound City today. Tonight at 9 PM it was still 66 degrees. There are a few snows in the area. We are not really sure how many but 500-1000 flew over the house tonight as we were working. More work tomorrow and then heading to Arkansas.
