Several of the fields have a ton of birds by them. Those that hunt those fields see thousands of snow geese. Most want little to do to with us.  It’s never been this hard, but yet it is.

The high field today shot 22 birds while all the others had slow hunting. On the bright side 21 of the 22 were Ross geese. That is the first time we have seen any number of them. It was just in that field but it is a change. Ross geese tend to decoy better than adult … [Read More]

Another band today. Banded in 2011, hatched in 2010 or earlier. It was at least a 9-year-old bird. Today was really cold in the morning. Flock after flock came from the north heading south.
